How to install GIMP in Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx
Press ALT+F2
Type gnome-terminal in the textbox and press enter
OR
Select Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal
Then type the following in the terminal. Also provide the password for the first user
(Instead of typing the following, just select the following text and press the centre button of the mouse in the terminal)
sudo sh -c echo ‘deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/matthaeus123/mrw-gimp-svn/ubuntu lucid main’ >> /etc/apt/sources.list
Add the GPG key using by typing the following
sudo apt-key adv –recv-keys –keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com 405A15CB
then type
sudo apt-get update
and the final step. Just type the following in the terminal and relax for some time.
sudo apt-get install gimp
After the installation just run the gimp from accessories->graphics->GNU Image Manipulation Programe
